Muslims are a new and emerging group on the American scene. Within the next few generations they will have the population size and political influence to change American life as we know it. Public schools, political parties, and national demographics will begin to take on a more Islamic flavor as this population begins to exert their influence. In order for Muslims to truly participate in American society they must understand that this is their new homeland and therefore they should have no association with overseas entities. Being kind to one's neighbors, buying into pragmatism, and protecting oneself and one's neighbors during times of adversity are all major factors in success. Unfortunately, danger lurks in every corner of Muslim integration into the U.S., which comes in the form of foreign culture and radicalism. To combat these tendencies this young group must develop a sense of self and begin the construction of institutions that are both American and Muslim.
